I just heard that in a few days, it's someone big's birthday, and everyone is giving each other presents, including me! The best part is that every present is totally surrounded in pretty, CRINKLY paper! I CAN'T WAIT!!

Yea! Winter vacation!

For those interested, here's a list of what foods Penelope's into lately:
Rice cereal

Peaches
Sweet peas
Carrots

Sweet potato

She also likes drinking apple juice and white grape juice, and tried a teething biscuit for the first time the other day.

Penelope's now a pro at pulling herself up to a standing position, taking a few steps along a supporting chair or table (every once in a while), and boogie-oogie-oogie-ing til she just can't boogie no more. (Boogie.) She is trying to climb up on things, and can clap pretty well now (it was silent when she started about a week ago, but now it's audible).

Latest trick

Here's Penelope's latest feat: standing with support. She can now move from lying down to all fours to sitting to standing all on her own, if she has something to pull up on. She's been working out by doing pull-ups on the bottom rung of the coffee table. By the way, she has two teeth coming in from the top now, too, but we still can't get a good picture -- we're still on the task!

Sorry for the lapse in posts -- I've been very busy helping Daddy study for and pass his doctoral qualifying exams. As you can see from the picture, I've been watching The Apprentice and learning a lot about being a "go to" baby!
